Shaping Adolescence
I collected objects that held personal significance during my childhood: a lamp that offered a sense of protection, a decoration gifted to me by my mother, a stuffed animal that provided comfort, a gaming console I shared late nights with alongside my younger brother, and a toy that encouraged imaginative play. While these objects may appear ordinary or inconsequential to others, they played a formative role in shaping my identity. My intention was to represent these items as more than mere materials such as plastic, wire, and fabric. I sought to create a vibrant, visually engaging display inspired by the work of Wayne Thiebaud, whose paintings consistently evoke feelings of nostalgia, innocence, and warmth. By drawing from his use of color and form, I aimed to capture and convey that same emotional resonance within this piece.
