Purity Sinking
This piece is one I had contemplated for a long time prior to its creation. I often struggle to articulate my emotions, and I frequently associate these complex internal states with water. The imagery of a whirlpool, in particular, repeatedly emerges in my work, symbolizing the sensation of being pulled into an inescapable downward spiral. This emotional turbulence is closely tied to a perceived loss of innocence. Throughout art history, lambs and daisies have commonly symbolized innocence and purity, as seen in the works of artists such as Giotto, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, and Claude Monet. Drawing inspiration from these historical references, I incorporated these motifs to visually express the emotional themes present in this piece.
